We could never have imagined that we would receive so much attention from the general public and the media. We have received and are still receiving many emails and letters from all over the world every day. Although we read all of them, unfortunately, as much as we would like to, we do not have the time to answer everyone in person. Therefore, we have decided to collect some of the information about the project here, and we hope that at least some of your questions will be answered. You can also check out the latest news and visit our blog. Our project has been the focus of several articles in newspapers, magazines and on web sites. If you and your cat(s) are interested in participating in our studies, please send an email to us (susanne.schotz-at-med.lu.se) with the following information:
We will put you on our list of potential participants and contact you as soon as we have a suitable study for you to participate in. For this project we are mainly interested in cats from the Malmö-Lund and Stockholm-Linköping areas in Sweden, but it is not impossible that we will need participants from other locations for future studies.
Here on our project website, we also collect descriptions and examples of many different cat sounds (click on CAT SOUNDS at the top right of this page so see the descriptions). In addition, Robert Eklund has devoted an entire website to purring (purring.org), with much information about purring.
